Good news is in store for police personnel as the director general of police (DGP) T N Mohan, at Goa police’s raising day, announced the introduction of medical insurance for over 6,000 police personnel.
The DGP also said that he had not heard a single complaint against police during this year.
Addressing police personnel at police headquarters, Mohan said the department is working on medical insurance for police personnel wherein they will have to pay between 6,000 to 7,500 annually for medical cover upto 3 lakh and for six family members.
He also said that Goa police have tied up with Axis bank to provide free accident cover of 25 lakh in case of death and he appealed to all police personnel to open a salary account in Axis bank for availing the facility.
He also urged police personnel to visit the ‘Suvidha canteen’ to avail upto 35 percent discounts on products sold at the canteen.
“Depending on the response from the police, more Suvidha canteens can be opened across the state for police personnel,” he added.
Mohan also presented a rolling trophy and cash prize of 30,000 to Panaji police station in the best police station category.
The award was received by Panaji PI Siddhant Shirodkar. The second place was bagged by Ponda police station, while third place went to Curchorem police station. Ponda PI Sudesh Naik and Curchorem PI Ravindra Desai accepted the awards.
The DGP also presented ‘DGP insignia awards’ to officers across different ranks. He also presented a special award to Bicholim police station, Canacona police station, PI Ninad Deulkar and PI Filomeno Costa.
