CHENNAI: Two of the insurance schemes announced by the government in the Union Budget will begin to be implemented in late May or June according to the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India Member D D Singh.
Speaking at an event organised by the Madras Management Association on the new Insurance bill, Singh said that preliminary documentation for both Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana schemes were proceeding apace and they would start getting executed by late May or June. He said that both the insurance schemes would be eligible for any bank account holder and that these schemes will be automatically seeded with the Aadhar information. These will be the next step in financial inclusion, he said.
